Screencore expands mobile crusher range

By Leila Steed23 May 2023

Crushing and screening equipment manufacturer Screencore has launched a new jaw crusher, adding the Screencore XJ Dual-Power tracked model to its product range.

The tracked machine is a 29 t, diesel-electric unit that is designed to handle construction and demolition waste, as well as minerals. It is powered by a Stage V-compliant 220 kVA Deutz engine and is available with a mains plug-in option.

"The dual-power XJ comes packed with a range of user-friendly features including remote control feeder and remote unblock facility as well as hydraulic fold-and-lock Hardox hopper sides," said Ciarán Ryan, sales director at Screencore.

"While all our models are available in dual-power format, our crushers (including the smaller XL model) come with this feature built-in offering several distinct advantages over traditional diesel/hydraulic crushers. Fuel consumption is in single digits for litres per hour.

"Environmentally, the XJ checks all the boxes including both the ‘Zero Emissions’ box with its plug-in ability and the ‘Low Noise’ box. We believe that the XJ raises the productivity bar substantially for mid-sized crushers," added Ciarán.

Key features of the mid-size model include a jaw level sensor, push-button hydraulic CSS wedge adjustment and a bolted mainframe jaw construction.

According to the Northern Ireland-based manufacturer, the XJ Dual-Power model is also fitted with a dust suppression system and an overband magnet than enables it to be used for inner city projects.

Ciarán added: "With its low transport height of just over 3 m (9 ft 10 in), length of 13.6 m (44 ft), and rapid set-up time, the XJ may be easily moved between sites for maximised operational flexibility, making it ideal for rental companies and businesses with a number of production sites."
